Call for a service call

123 Main St, Lathrop, MO Service call $125 first hour One phone number, and it is the right one

What we do

Six jobs, and the one worth calling about today.

The one worth calling about today is the panel. Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels are still in a lot of houses out here, breakers in them are known not to trip, and no insurance carrier likes finding one. If you do not know what is in your garage, send a photo of the inside of the door and we will tell you for free.

PLACEHOLDER: electrician kneeling at an opened receptacle box with a multimeter probing conductors, wire strippers and a circuit tracer on the floor beside him, cover plate set aside

Service calls and troubleshooting

Half the house is out, a breaker will not stay set, a receptacle is warm, lights dim when the well pump kicks. We find it, we tell you what it costs, and then we fix it.

$125 first hour

PLACEHOLDER: finished 200 amp load center with the dead front removed showing neatly dressed and labeled circuit conductors, new meter socket and grounding electrode conductor visible outside

Panel and service upgrades

100 to 200 amp service upgrades, meter socket and mast, grounding brought up to current code, and a panel schedule that is actually legible. Utility coordination and the permit are ours, not yours.

from $2,150

PLACEHOLDER: standby generator on a concrete pad beside a house with the automatic transfer switch mounted on the wall next to the meter, flexible conduit and gas line running in

Generator hookups

Interlock kit and an inlet for a portable, or a full automatic transfer switch for a standby unit. Both done so the neighbor's lineman does not get hurt by your generator.

$650–$4,400

PLACEHOLDER: 240 volt EV charger mounted on a garage wall with conduit running to a subpanel, charging cable on the hook, load calculation sheet taped beside the panel

EV chargers and 240 volt circuits

Level 2 charger, welder outlet, shop compressor, hot tub. The load calculation happens before the quote, because the honest answer is sometimes that the panel goes first.

from $675

PLACEHOLDER: framed basement remodel with new romex runs stapled to studs, ceiling boxes hung, a temporary work light strung across the joists

Remodel and new construction

Whole-house rough-in and trim, basement finishes, kitchen and bath remodels, additions and detached garages. We work off the print and we show up when the framer says to.

by the job

PLACEHOLDER: electrical service and disconnect on a pole beside a metal machine shed on a farm, conduit running down to a weatherproof panel, grain bin in the background

Farm, shop and outbuilding

Underground feeds to shops and barns, pole services, grain bin and auger circuits, well pumps, and three phase where the co-op will give it to you. This is most of what we do.

by the job

PLACEHOLDER: open service truck body on a gravel drive with labeled bins of wire nuts, breakers and boxes, spools of romex, a coiled extension cord and a folded step ladder

There is no trip charge inside twenty miles of Lathrop and no charge at all for a quote on a planned job. We pull the permit and we meet the inspector, which is the part homeowners underestimate and the part that keeps a bad panel from showing up on your closing paperwork in ten years. Prices here are illustrative for this preview.

Recent work

Four jobs from this spring, in four different towns.

None of these are showcase jobs. They are the ordinary work of a rural electrical contractor, which is exactly what you want to see before you hand somebody the keys to your house or your shop.

The shop

Two trucks, and the owner is in one of them.

Owner name goes here started this company in 1996 and it has been two trucks and a small crew since about 2004. He is on one of the trucks most days, so the person who quotes your job is usually the person who does it, and if he is not, it is somebody who has worked for him for a decade.

Almost all of the work comes from people who have used us before or were told to call by somebody who has. That is a good problem right up until a stranger with an actual emergency cannot find a phone number, which is why this page exists.
